Taipei, Taiwan - RITEK has released RIDATA eSATA Solid State Disk (SSD) that includes a USB connection and an eSATA connector for use on combination USB/eSATA ports on notebooks. The external SSD comes with Multi-Channel Flash memory control and Wear-Leveling technology to deliver faster access speeds and longer Flash service life. On the eSATA interface, read speeds can reach up to 85MB/s and write speeds of up to 51MB/s, or five times as fast as existing USB drives. Even on the USB interface the read and write speeds can reach up to 30MB/s and 25MB/s respectively, higher than existing USB drives. Compared to USB2.0's 480Mb/s and IEEE 1394's 400Mb/s data transfer rates, RIDATA's eSATA interface offers far faster data transfers to greatly shorten the time needed to transfer large photo and multimedia files. Hot swapping is also supported so the SATA device can be easily connected or removed at any time without having to shut down the computer. The double interface also offers a new feature. When the eSATA SSD is connected to a computer, the USB port on the otherside can also be used to access data on the SSD as well.
The RIDATA eSATA SSD is currently available with capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.
